In the last 4 weeks only one person has had more internet searches than Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and the Octomom put together. This person is Susan Boyle, if you don’t know who she is, please check her out on youtube.com, you will be pleasantly surprise.

Susan Boyle is a humble woman, born in Scotland 48 years ago. The world got to met her thru Britains Got Talent show, where she dared to sing one of the most difficult songs from Le Miserable s, the audience and the judges laughed and made fun of her unpolished physical aspect, that was until the first notes came out of her mouth , quickly they all forgot her looks and became speechless.

Why? I ask myself, the first impulse was of laughter and even the judges were a little sarcastic asking her the normal questions. After seeing Susan you will realize that she looks nothing like a diva, then why no one laughs at the chunky opera singers or the translucent bodies of the models? Were the audience and the judges discriminating Susan Boyle because of her appearance? Because of her age or just because she look homely?

Every day thousands of people are discriminated (fancy word for rejection), no one gives them the opportunity they are looking for, either because of their sexual preferences, religion, maybe they are young, old, men, women, because they are sick, color, nationality and I can continue till tomorrow, the list could be miles long. ? I’m even guilty of discriminating against someone for not having good table manners.

When we confront something that we don’t understand our first impulse is fear... That big and terrible dragon can dominate you. Later, rejection may surface. Why rejection? Because we don’t know the real truth of what we are confronting. However, if we take a little time to learn, with every word, those dragons will shrink so much that they will disappear, I guarantee you that. You will stop being afraid, and knowledge will give you the power to conquer your dragons.

Some people will tell you that they are not discriminating, that they are just exercising their right to choose? Of course we have the right to choose what we like or dislike. I understand that, we have the right to choose what school our children will go to, as citizens we have the right to write without censorship, what are we going to eat, our doctor, to pick our partner, etc, but we should never forget that when we are choosing we are also rejecting, and specially when we are rejecting we should all remember

To use soft and wise words when you are rejecting - because tomorrow you may have to swallow them
